Can I just say that Cindi Madsen is BRILLIANT! She has the corner market on funny and romance. I read this book in one sitting because I could not put it down. Who can resist best friends falling in love with each other when they least expected it. I mean friends are friends and we don't cross that line because sometimes it never works out but in this case I love how Cindi puts all the pieces together and keeps you wondering if they are actually going to become a couple.
Dani and Wes have been friends since college. They met in college and struck up a friendship and have remained friends after college. Dani is working in this great company but she can't seem to advance because she does not have a family and the company prides itself on being family oriented. Wes has a great job and great friends but he is missing that one thing that everyone wants and that is someone to share his love with. His friends are settling down and now his sister is getting married and he does not have a date to bring to her wedding. So he and Dani strike up a deal that will help them both out. They will get fake engaged and that way Dani can get her promotion and Wes has a date to his sisters wedding and he can also prove to his ex that he has moved on.
The only thing is is that Dani and Wes did not expect to fall in love with each other. The more kisses they share the more intimate they become the more they fall in love. At first it just sneaks up on them and then they realize that what they have is real. Falling for your best friend is taboo but for these two it just may be what the doctor ordered.
