The angel is just as bewildered as Maggie about why he’s been sent to her, but their unsuccessful efforts to gain understanding of the mystery fade to the background as their relationship grows. Soon, Maggie’s biggest problem becomes the angel himself, as her feelings for him develop into something less than saintly.

While Maggie struggles to keep her desires pure, a nefarious being lurks in the shadows of Prairie Oaks, watching and waiting for the opportunity to fulfill his ambiguous purpose. Preying on her conflicted emotions, the demon manipulates her at every opportunity, but the one to deliver Maggie directly into his hands is the last person she’d expect.

My Review

5 of 5 Divine Temptation

Divine Temptation is an incredible read. Anyone who knows me knows I love angel stories. There is something about good VS evil that pulls you into a book. In this story Nicki Elson makes you question good and evil. Can the devil really do that? Is God there watching us? Do we have a guardian angel who watches over us? Why is it the devil wants to make people miserable? Is it not enough he takes something from them but he has to kick them over and over again while they are down?

Maggie Brock is a mother of two newly divorced from her longtime husband. But Maggie is strong and she knows that this is only one little bump in the road and as long as she keeps her eyes on the prize and keeps trusting in God he will deliver her from this personal hell she lives in. Her husband Carl decided he did not love her anymore and moved on to another women leaving Maggie to care for their children. Her son is so adorable but her daughter at times got on my nerves because she was giving her mother a hard time.

But there is one bright side to Maggie and that is every night she dreams of an angel. But soon her dreams become a reality and her angel becomes flesh and blood and is there to help her out in her time of need. At first Maggie can't believe it but she soon learns to trust her angel she calls Evan. Maggie is also leery because she is starting to have feelings for her angel and she is not sure if she is supposed to have those feelings. I mean he is an angel right but she and Evan soon realize that evil is lurking around the corner and when Maggie comes face to face with that evil she will need Evan by her side to help her through it.

This is such a great story of good vs evil and what happens when you trust God and he saves you.

About the Author:

Writing wasn't something Nicki set out to do; it just sort of happened when she realized writing reports was by far her favorite part of her investment consulting position. She traded stock allocation and diversification for story arcs and dialogue and now weaves her creative writing time in with the other activities of her busy life with her family in the Chicago suburbs.

Nicki writes with two goals in mind: #1 to keep the characters realistic, even when their circumstances are anything but, and #2 to make the reader feel. Her published works include Three Daves, a light-hearted romantic romp through a 1980s college campus, Divine Temptation, a romantic novel of angelic proportions, and short stories “Sway” (available as a single), “I Don’t Do Valentine’s Day” (part of A Valentine Anthology), and “Impressionism 101” (included in the debut issue of Insatiable: The Magazine of Paranormal Desire).

But her family and Tyler's older brother Holden don't want her to go on this trip by herself and Holden convinces her to let him go with her. At first Sam does not want him to go but she relents and off they go on the road trip.

While Sam and Holden are on their road trip they begin to discover that Tyler wasn't the person he portrayed himself to be. Tormented (The Gates Legacy #2) by Lorenz Font Blog Tour Stop

Summary:

Tor Burns is a non-infected vampire who has taken refuge in the Tack Enterprises underground facility. Having survived a vicious attack with his fellow vampire Harrow, he now has a new purpose. Vampires afflicted with Gates Syndrome are still being hunted, and Tor is committed to saving them from the clutches of the Vampire Council. With a semi-cure within their grasp, Tor is reluctant to accept his new assignment: bodyguard to Allison Tack, the daughter of their fallen leader. Armed with an abrasive personality and fierce loyalty, Tor approaches this new responsibility with serious determination despite his reservations.

Vampire Allison Tack is the beautiful and timid co-heir of the Tack fortune. Infected and hunted by the Council, those lucky enough to have known her father are determined to keep her safe. A walking target wherever she goes, Allison wants to learn how to protect herself, but no one is listening. Sick of being the helpless one in the company of trained fighters around her, Allison vows to prove that she can fight alongside the best of them.

Meanwhile, the harem leader, Melissa, is hell-bent on unraveling any clue about her son Demetrius’s fate. He disappeared without a word, and time has made her desperate. Stepping up her efforts, she seeks the help of Demetrius’s son, Zane. With the additional manpower, Melissa finds the lair of the suspected vampires and wages war against them.

Thrown together by necessity, Tor and Allison can’t continue to deny their attraction to each other. Tor wants to give in to his feelings for her, but old demons resurface. He must confront the past to prevent losing the best thing that ever happened to him.

A life must be given for a life taken. Will Tor have to sacrifice himself before Allison pays the price?

My Review

5 of 5 Tormented

Tormented is an amazing follow up to Hunted. I have to say that this Vampire world keeps getting better and better as we delve into the crux of things. There is so much going on and beneath the secrets and the lies when things come to the forefront all hell breaks lose.

Allison is still trying to get over the loss of her father Pritchard Tack. Her father was close to finding the cure to this horrible disease that is killing the vampires. With Gates Syndrome killing the vampires Pritchard came up with a semi cure that could help prolong the lives of the infected vampires but was killed before he could complete his research. Now his daughter is left alone and the people who loved her father are willing to do whatever it takes to save her from the clutches of the council. They decide to higher Tor Burns who is a fierce alpha who will do anything to keep Allison safe.

At first Tor is torn because he has a bad feeling about protecting Allison but as time goes on the closer they get Tor realizes he is having real feelings for her and that can't happen because he has demons he has to fight and no matter what he has to keep his head on straight in order to protect her from the council who is hunting her down. See Goran has his sights set on the prize and no matter what anyone says or does he is determined to rid the world of the infected vampires. But Goran has some serious stuff going on in his life because his wife Melissa is looking for her son Demetrius who has disappeared and she wants to know where he is and she will stop at nothing to find him so she enlists the help of her grandson Zane. But Goran is determined to stop her because what she will find out will destroy them and cause war. But a mother's love knows no boundaries or obstacles and when Melissa uncovers the truth all hell breaks lose.

This is a great follow up top Hunted and I need more! I need the next book like ASAP!

My Review

5 of 5 A Little Too Far

Where to start on this review....... Oh man I have to say that after reading this story I was such an emotional ball because so much happened and when it happened it felt like I was right there alongside the characters. I have never ever read a book that had me all over the place with my emotions. I loved every character even the ones that got on me nerves and let me tell you there was one girl that I wanted to jump in the book and slap her so bad. She knew from the beginning that the guy she liked loved someone else and he was up front and honest but yet she still pursued him and when things started to work out with the other girl the one he loved she got all pissy when he said they had to stay friends. I just wanted to slap her and tell her listen girl he told you the truth up front but you wanted more and he did not so get the F^&% over it!!!!!!!!!!

Okay enough ranting about her because I could go on all day about her and what pissed me off about her but I will spare you the details. So anyways we have Lexi who I love and adore. She is off at college and her boyfriend is at another college. When she goes home on spring break she finds out that her boyfriend Rick is a complete douche and has been cheating on her and when she finds out and dumps him she is devastated. She gave him almost four years of her life and he gave her a promise ring and everything but yet he chose to cheat.

As she is getting over him she decides she will study abroad for a year in Rome, Italy. She knows this is her clean break and she can't wait to start a new life and get over everything that has happened. Her best friend who is her step brother Trent talks to her about leaving but Lexi has decided she needs the change in her life. So two days before she is to leave for Rome she and Trent have mind blowing sex and Lexi realizes she may have some deep rooted feelings for her step brother that is forbidden but she can't stop thinking about him. Trent on the other hand knows he loves Lexi and always has so when she still decides to leave for Rome he is scared she will not come back.

Off Lexi goes to Rome and when she gets there she decides she is going to go to church and confess her sins. She knows the guilt she carries about sleeping with Trent will not go away unless she admits to herself how much she loves Trent and wants him. So off to the church she goes and when she is done confessing she comes out of the confessional smack dab into a gorgeous Deacon Alessandro Moretti. Lord he is hot sex on a platter but also off limits because he will soon be a priest.

Alessandro and Lexi form a friendship and begin spending time together as she completes her studies. Lexi realizes that she misses home and she misses her dad but she is really having fun out in Rome with Alessandro. Lexi also misses Trent. Then things get a little out of control for her and her life takes a huge change and she knows what she wants and where she wants to be. But can she have what is so forbidden? Will she be able to be free to love who she wants to love and will he love her back?

This is a story of love, lust, and what happens when you open your heart to the one you love. BEST BOOK OF 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Review

5 of 5 Running From Forever

Running From Forever is an incredible story that had me on the edge of my seat. I loved every minute of it.

Kayla is a runner. She runs instead of staying and trying. If it scares her she is out. She is like Nike she just does it! Kayla has finished college and is ready to move on with her career. Her longtime boyfriend proposes to her and she runs of to New York to start her career. Once in New York she lands her dream job and she is so excited about how things are going that when she meets Miles he totally takes her by surprise and she can't stop thinking about him.

But then she meets Merrick who she has this instant connection with. Merrick is like a brother and then some and together Kayla and Merrick share a past and present because they both share running away from things instead of facing them and they both hold their deep dark secrets so no one will know what they have gone through.

But Miles is determined to have Kayla and no matter how hard she pushes and how far she thinks she can run Miles will be there. Will she run with Merrick or will she run to Miles instead of away? This is such an emotional story that I laughed and I cried and I yelled but the ending holy shizz I loved every moment of it!

Excerpt:

She let out an exasperated breath. “No. No, I gotta figure this out.” She turned to face me, legs crossed, intertwined. “I don’t know what to do, Merrick.”

I felt it in my chest. She was lost, pleading for help. I didn’t know if I was the best person to help her. I’d lived just as fucked up a life myself. From the age I could run, I did, staying at friend’s houses almost every day of the week, stopping home quick after school just to make sure my mom hadn’t overdosed and was dead on the floor. I did this almost my whole life…up until I ran here.

“I can’t really help you, babe, if I don’t know what happened,” I told her as sympathetically as I could, looking into her sad eyes. Even if I wasn’t the most qualified person to give advice, I wanted to help, but I also needed to know what happened first.

Kayla rubbed her face with her hands, keeping them over her eyes for a minute longer. She was thinking; questioning if she was ready to spill. I didn’t want to force her to do it, so I sat there quietly. I wish I could just sweep her up and run far, far away; take her away from all the bad in her life permanently, but that would mean I had to run again, and I was done running. I couldn’t do it anymore.

“I loved him.” Her voice was a whisper. She removed her hands from her face but only to look down to her crisscrossed feet. She couldn’t look at me while she told me, and I was okay with that. “I let my guard down when I knew I shouldn’t have, but I couldn’t help it.”

About the Author:

Some may consider me a jack of all trades, but I consider myself well rounded.
I’ve waitressed, styled hair, answered phones and, most recently, worked full time as mom to my two beautiful little boys.
Then there was this book… Everyone and their brother started talking about this book series titled Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. I didn’t really pay attention to the craze at first, since I wasn’t a big reader- okay, I didn’t read at all. But curiosity got the best of me, so I downloaded it to my kindle.

I was immediately hooked. I read the whole series in three days. Yes, three books in three days.
I kept finding all these great books that I HAD to read (just ask my credit card!).
Then I started hearing voices. Voices that turned into stories; stories that were begging to get out of my head.
I started writing them down on scraps of paper. Then I transferred them to my computer. Before I knew it, Planning on Forever was born.
The voices in my head are still talking, so I’m still writing.

Interview:

If you could have a super hero power, which would you choose and why? To be in more places at once. As a mom and writer, that would make life MUCH more easier.

Do you listen to music while you write? No. I wish I could but I can’t focus. I’ve tried it many, many times, but I always end up turning it off. I find myself paying more attention to the song being played than the book I’m writing. So nope, I write in complete silence.

What's you favorite snack/beverage you must have while writing? I have a sweet tooth when I’m writing. I’m not a big sweets person, but when I’m writing I love having chocolate or something like that. Oh, and coke. I’m a coke drinker- need that caffeine!

What can we expect to see from you in the future? Right now, I’m working on Merrick’s book, Permanent Lines. It’s a standalone- will not be considered part of The Forever Series. I have a book that has been lingering in my head that I really would like to write- Kate’s List. It’s NOTHING like any of my other books. The characters are actually much older- middle aged. Then I promised a follow up book to Summer Rush that I plan on getting out in 2014.

If you could take one book with you on vacation, what would it be and why? Waiting on Forever. I don’t know why, but I have a strong emotional attachment to that book. I love it. I cry and get all swarmed with butterflies every time I read it. And by the way, it’s the only book by me that I have EVER read again after publishing.

Tell us one unique fact about yourself. I’m incredibly quiet and shy in new environments and/or around people I don’t know. Meeting new people is not one of my strongest points. I can talk to people online just fine, but in person, over the phone…it takes a lot of willpower to work through it. So if you ever meet me in person and I seem stand-off-ish at first, it’s not you, it’s me!

Waterproof Excerpt
Ten more steps.

My legs ached with every jarring move, growing heavier the closer I got to my destination. The weight of my bounty pulled against me like a prisoner’s chain. If I dropped it, I would be safe. The idea taunted me as I ran through the abandoned junk yard, dodging large pieces of scrap metal and sliding over the rusty hoods of skeletal cars.

“Drop them or I’ll shoot you dead,” a gruff voice yelled behind me.

I didn’t dare turn back. Something whizzed past my ear and slammed into the side of an old van blocking the path in front of me. A reddish dust full of steel splinters exploded in my face as the unmistakable sound of tearing metal pierced the dusk air. I’d gravely misjudged this group of deserters.

Heart hammering in my chest, I slid to a stop before crashing into the bullet hole meant for my head. Two bottles slipped from my arms and rolled underneath the van before I could stop them. Shit. There wasn’t enough time but I couldn’t go back with only those left in my hands.

I braved a look behind at my pursuers. The three men tearing after me had nothing but revenge in their eyes. If the two sawed-off shotguns didn’t represent their intentions, then the man firing the military rifle at my head made it very clear.

Another bullet slammed into the van just as I ducked down to retrieve the bottles. Footsteps pounded against the broken pavement and dead leaves, sounding more like an army than a handful of survivors like me. I reached as far as my shoulder would allow, ignoring the pain searing through my tired muscles. My fingertips brushed the plastic container just before it rolled further under the van.

“Where’d he go?” one of the men called out. He sounded close.

Dropping to my stomach, I nestled the remaining bottles under my left arm, while trying to retrieve the others with my right. After squeezing half my body underneath the van, I finally grabbed the first, then the second. Another shot ricocheted off the ground in front of me. They were trying to flush out my position and if they found me now, I was dead.

Scooping up the prized possessions I’d risked my life for, I prepared to run. Trapped between two vehicles, only one option presented itself - I’d have to get to the old cargo containers. This particular group of deserters set up their camp inside a metal scrap yard. Smart and resourceful. The dilapidated containers had been pushed to the sides, creating a barrier and providing some semblance of safety. Although I’d slipped through them easily on my way in, my arms were now full of water bottles that slowed me down.

Water. Wars were fought and lost over it. People died. Billions of humans perished in the days leading up to the end. And now I risked my life for a mere eight liters because we’d used the last natural drop of clean water on the planet five years ago.

Metal cracked above my head. Dust fell into my eyes and tiny pellets showered over my back like a swarm of bees.

“I’ve got him!”

I looked up in fear, only to see that I still had a clear path to my escape. Shotgun man had his sights somewhere else. Now was my chance.

Sucking in a deep breath, I scrambled to my feet and ran as hard as I could toward the narrow crevice between the containers. Forcing myself not to turn and look where they were, I ignored the shouting and distinct sound of shells hitting the ground.

Five more steps.

Waterproof Excerpt

Vivienne yelled out and I whipped my head around to see what happened. The last man standing held an impressive hunting knife in his hand, while Vivienne had a fresh cut on her arm. Still, she held steady, sword gripped tightly in front of her, legs in a fighting stance.

Something stirred inside of me at the sight. Time slowed when I watched her wield the sword like an ancient warrior. It was hard to imagine that just a few years ago we were in high school worrying about football games and which party to go to on the weekend. Now we stayed in abandoned houses, scrounged for water, and spent most of our lives running. If things had been different, Vivienne and I would be graduating college this year. I had plans to go into medicine, and she wanted to be a vet. Funny how those dreams seemed so far away now.

A loud thump echoed through the now darkened night. She almost fell to the ground with the amount of momentum needed to decapitate the man. He dropped to his knees like a sinner begging for mercy, head rolling further down the hill. My stomach fluttered with admiration and annoyance.

“I didn’t need your help,” I said to her, getting up on my feet and trying not to wince at my injuries.

“Sure,” she huffed. Ripping her bandana off her face she tore it in two. “Here, wrap that up.” She nodded toward the tear in my sleeve and I stubbornly yanked the cloth out of her hand.

“I had everything under control,” I said between clenched teeth. It was the only way to mask the pain. “How did you know where to find me?”

“I followed the girly shrieks,” she said without missing a beat. I looked down at her in time to see a smirk pull at the corner of her mouth. “Let me do it.”

Once again, I allowed Vivienne to rescue me. It killed every part of that male ego inside, but I knew she’d let me do the same for her. In fact, I had. We always saved each other.

“Ow,” I said when she tightened the bandana a little too rough around my arm.

“Stop being a baby.”

“Stop showing off your man strength.”

She pulled even tighter but let a small laugh escape. I sucked in a breath at that sound, realizing how close I’d come to never hearing it again.

“Are you hurt anywhere else?” she asked, turning me around and patting her hands along my body. I froze, trying to ignore how comforting her touch felt. We’d been friends for years, and she was the only person in this world I trusted. Why had I risked so much for this run?

I stepped away from her, not liking where my thoughts were headed. “I’m fine,” I mumbled. “Stop mothering me.”

“I wouldn’t have to if you’d listen to me.” She stopped in front of my face and stared me down. I stood a little over six feet tall and she was just a few inches shorter. Together with that glare, almost any man would cower under her. “Was it worth it?”

“Huh?”

“The water. How much did you get?”

I hung my head in embarrassment. “I had eight, but they shot through one. So six, I guess.”

“Six bottles?” She looked impressed.

“No, six liters.” Silence.

“You just made me kill three men for six liters of water?”

I shuffled my feet. “You only killed two.”

She reached out so quickly, I couldn’t defend myself. Both hands pushed against my chest and I stumbled back, falling to the ground.

“I could make it three,” she hissed. “I should kill you for your stupidity alone.”

Author Information:

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss and quit her job. Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly again).

So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a YA/NA and Adult Romance writer. Her books include the following: Edge of Disaster, Shattered Edge and Kissing Fire (The Edge Series); The Guardians of Vesturon series (Survival, Resurrection, Determinant, reEmergent and Beginnings); Dark Waltz and Tragically Flawed.

Other than being in love with writing about being in love, she loves chocolate, ice cream and coffee and is positive they should be added as part of the USDA food groups.

This summer he's back in town and all grown up -- sweet, handsome, and completely smitten with Clover. At first, she thinks a harmless summer fling is the perfect reward for her hard work at school.

But as the summer continues and their romance grows, Jake challenges everything she thought she knew about herself and her plans. When the end of summer comes, Clover is forced to evaluate what she really wants, but can she find a way to write Jake into her life?

My Review

5 of 5 Clover

Clover.... Clover...... Clover is one of the most amazing stories I have read this year! I love me some Braxton Cole but dam she outdid herself with this simple romance. I love a good romance every now and then but Jake and Clover is on my top five list for favorite romances.

Clover is a smart girl and knows what she wants and she will stop at nothing to get it. She is determined not to be stuck on her fathers farm. She goes off to college and when she comes home for the summer before she goes off to graduate school her world is about to change. She sees her childhood friend Jake and when she does she does not recognize him because he has grown up and he gets her heart racing.

Jake has spent every summer with his aunt and he has become friends with Clover and her brother. He has always had feelings for Clover but never said anything because he was only there for the summer. But now that Clover is all grown up and home from college Jake wants her and he will stop at nothing to have her. As the summer progresses she and Jake start to develop a friendship that turns into so much more.

They face some things together but with the summer coming to an end will Clover chose Jake or will she chose to leave for college? I have to say this I LOVED the ending it was an EPIC ending and I just wanted to cry and leap into the book!

Meet the Author

Braxton Cole lives in the Pacific Northwest where she spends most of her time holed up in her office writing stories. When she's not writing, she can be found riding her bike, hiking the fabulous local trails, chasing her kids, or wishing that her thumb was a little more green.

She has a bad habit of killing what she tries to grow, but hasn't given up hopes of one day being a successful urban farmer. Braxton writes erotic romance because romance is the stuff that makes life great, and sex is fun. The two belong together, both in life and in fiction.
